Green Vision North East
Green Vision North East (GVNE) is a registered non-profit environmental and social development organization based in Assam, dedicated to protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, and promoting sustainable development across North East India. Working closely with local communities, indigenous peoples, researchers, government agencies, and corporate partners, GVNE creates long-term environmental and social impact through conservation, climate action, sustainable livelihoods, and community participation.

Green Vision North East (GVNE) was established in response to the growing environmental challenges affecting North East India, including habitat loss, biodiversity decline, climate change, and the increasing pressures on rural and indigenous communities. Recognizing the urgent need for collective action, a group of environmentally conscious citizens, conservationists, and community leaders came together with a shared vision of protecting the region’s rich natural heritage while promoting sustainable development. Since its inception, GVNE has been dedicated to conserving forests, wetlands, and wildlife, restoring degraded ecosystems, encouraging large-scale tree plantation, supporting sustainable agriculture, empowering local communities, and creating environmental awareness. Through science-based approaches, community participation, and strategic partnerships, the organization continues to build a greener, healthier, and more resilient future for North East India.
What We Do

Environmental Conservation
We protect and restore forests, rivers, wetlands, and natural ecosystems through afforestation, habitat restoration, and community-led conservation programmes to preserve ecological balance.
Wildlife & Biodiversity Protection
Our conservation initiatives safeguard endangered wildlife, including the Western Hoolock Gibbon, while protecting biodiversity-rich habitats through research, monitoring, and community participation.
🌱 Climate Action & Sustainable Livelihoods
We implement large-scale tree plantation, carbon sequestration, organic farming, agroforestry, and green livelihood programmes that strengthen climate resilience and support rural communities.

We empower women, youth, and indigenous communities through environmental education, awareness campaigns, skill development, leadership training, and sustainable development initiatives that create long-term positive impact.
